People talking smack is as old as man itself. This week's rant is about people talking smack on our program. Now do not misunderstand me I am not coming out here to talk smack and piss and moan and gripe about people talking smack on the show. We have just heard some good stuff and I now have enough for a whole column. I have heard everything from I do too much breathing on the air and I have heard people say that frankly my show sucks.
Pod casters have always talked smack and prob. Will continue to talk smack because the pod casters are much like the bloggers are to the news world. They all think they are so smart and so great. So let's look at pod casters running their yaps, Pod casters sometimes write “reviews” of my and other people's programs. They critique the crap out of our program from the level of my voice to my sound. I will tell you and I have told them this as well. One it's a pod cast on line and I do this out of my own pocket and time. If you have issues with my equipment, then you need to cut me a check and I can go out and buy all the top flight stuff that I need to do a Jim Rome sounding program. Two, if you have an issue with my voice level and quality of the program, you need to realize that it's net radio and nothing else. I am not being paid to do this and if I could get paid I would do so much more and make it so much better.
Other net radio people talking smack on my broadcast. I hear this all the time from people who do their own show. They tell me they have issues with my show and talk all sorts of crap. Here is some samples of the what they say, “Frankly your show sucks.” My response to this is simply, “Turn it off” you do not have to listen to my show and I could care less what you think of my show. If you were Rush or Rome or Imus I would care but your a UK dork who does net radio. Another thing I hear is all the stuff about well I do not speak into the misc without all my breath. So here is the deal, I am working with radio shack mics. If I could have the high quality equipment that Stern and the boys have, I will make sure there is no issue.
Listeners always come in and talk smack, let's look at this from a stand point that listeners are listernes. I do not expect the one;s who hate me to let me know I am god. I always have never been a fan of these so called know it all fans. If you are such a know it all and be all of listeners. Then why don't you go out and become a host and stop listening to my crappy program. However you may not do that cause that may take talent and a lot of the nasty e-mails I have gotten over the years did not take talent to write.
My point is have heard it all and will continue to hear it all. If your offended by comments that people make. You need to go hide in a hole and get things together. I have been putting up with people talking smack on the show. I take sou less in the fact that I will eventually be on mainstream radio do ing what I love and get paid to do all the stuff I want to do on the air. Another thing is I see the numbers and see that we have tons of new and old listeners coming on board. So I am not worried.
