Weekly Rant: 12/9/2009 WWE vs TNA

Here we go again, I could spend this week talking about Tiger Woods, However as I put it on my radio program. This is such a non issue, You have Woods who is black and a rich guy and guess what he wants to bang hot white women? So big deal, that is something you can see at any Salina Kansas night club. Let's get down to it, we all knew that this would come but I thought it would not jump off this quick. Last night during the final episode of The Ultimate Fighter, Hulk Hogan was interviewed and guess what WWE's 1st Raw of 2010 is going to be met by TNA wrestling doing a big 3 hour program on a Monday Night. What the hell does this mean?

TNA vs WWE is now on, Vince can not duck them anymore and bash them on line and he has to man up. Remember how WCW got really going is they went to Monday nights and started the best era's in pro sports with the Monday Night Wars. Now the INTERNET has gone wild with people saying Vince is fucked and then saying he has no chance of losing. However the INTERNET being the INTERNET has gone wild with the rumors that TNA will bring in Ken Kennedy
Ric Flair
Rikishi
Brett Hart
Stacy Keibler
Torrie Wilson
Eric Bichoff
Rob Van Dam
to be on the roster or just one time shots on a Monday night. Now how many of those names will actually be there? I think maybe 2-3 but not all of them. I don't see Eric Bichoff pulling all this out on a special show that we may just see 1 time. However if it is pulled off, wow what the hell do we have here?

Let's look at the WWE side of things, they just signed a new deal with USA networks and have that in the bag. You also have WWE has 3 brands to draw from and star power like mad to bring in you could have John Cena vs The Undertaker or something like that. You could see Austin and The Rock show up. Plus some top stars that could be skyrocketed up with something like this. WWE could give a quick cash grab to people like RVD or someone to come in and do a good rating for Vince. Vince also knows what he is dealing with here with Eric and Hogan. These guys are bitter and want to make a run at Vince and win. Plus they have Dixie Carter{who I think is a ditz and a dolt} However Dixie has money and will not be like Turner and pull the rug out on WCW when they almost could make a turnaround. Spike TV is still pissed at Vince and could give TNA anything they want.

TNA side of things has a lot of things in their pocket and could use this to kick into high gear. Let's look at things, you have former stars who are pissed at Vince whether non pushed or being fired. Plus you have a TV partner in Spike TV who is still pissed at Vince and people like Dixie Carter who have very deep pockets. Young stars from Japan and Mexico and places like Ring of Honor who could make pace for Vince. TNA could offer HUGE money to someone to come in for 1 night deal and just be on the show. They do not have to wrestle and do not have even be on the program long. People like Sid and Scott Hall who could be there and then be gone the next week. Vince has been doing the same crap and the same stuff on Raw the last few weeks and we could see TNA take the ball and run with it. They have 1 shot and if they do, this could be game on but if not this could be one of the chapters on the rise and fall of TNA wrestling put out by WWE Home video next year.

Now the INTERNET is all abuzz that TNA will be a fresh product and believe me they have 1 shot and 1 shot only. If those guys do not kill themselves and do not pull out some good stuff. Then it will be back to Thursday nights with taped crap. I believe that Raw needs to pull out a HUGE card because if Vince can kill this thing before it gets some legs then we have something. If not, believe me this could be a long road again for Vince because Spike is behind TNA and TNA has Hogan who is needing money and wants to make back his money he gave to his wife and lawyers in fees. Eric sees this as a chance to taking one back from the WCW loss.

Finally I will be back on the couch on a Monday Night and also on the INTERNET flipping back and 4th between the INTERNET stream of Raw and watching TNA live on Spike TV. What is the best poss. Outcome for Vince is he packs Raw and blows the rating up and TNA has to go back to the board room again or Vince fumbles and TNA comes out on stormtroopers and we can get this thing rolling again on Wrestling back in the fold and MMA taking a backseat to wrestling like back in the 90's.
