I have said for the longest time that this year should be a good year and I have heard from a lot of people, personally and professionally that 2009 was a crap year for everyone and that 2010 has to be better. This week I would like to spotlight somethings we have to look forward to a great 2010 and what we can expect from the scene. I believe 2010 should be a great year and lets hope I am not proven wrong and as always I am never proven wrong. This week I will detail the views and news that we will see in 2010 from Professional Wrestling, Rocking M Radio will finally fail and Mixed Martial Arts will get good and as always Jiggy jaguar Radio and TV will become a great thing again. Plus my view on 2010 in general.
Pro Wrestling is going to get good and it's gonna get good on Monday Night January 4th 2010 with TNA wrestling going head to head with Vince and WWE. What bothers me is that Vince is not really loading up this week's Monday night with many matches that can give TNA a run for their money. TNA is not really doing much to counter Vince and the boys. So who knows this thing could fizzle out as quick as it has picked up. I think that this week could become cool and get us the wrestling we all remember from the Raw/Nitro era. The ratings and the response will dictate what happens next in the wrestling world. However by this time next year we will have good wrestling on Monday nights.
Mixed Martial Arts could become good with the UFC expanding into more countries and Strike Force giving them some much needed competition to make both brands better. You have former Boxing superstar James Toney coming into the MMA scene and looking to make a big impact, will he fizzle out or become like many others who are getting the training to make it a go. Then you have Brock Lesner coming back to squash the heavyweights in the UFC and trying to angle toward a big pay day with Fedor and Strike force MMA could become like pro wrestling was in the Mid 90's with people like Hershel Walker from the NFL jumping into the cage. We also have the Kimbo Slice factor as well. 2010 could get good for MMA indeed.
Rocking M Failure is coming and is coming sooner than any of us expected. RMR was the company that came in and was going to kick ass in Kansas and Midwest radio. They slowly but surely dismantled the stations and air talent and killed a legacy in radio such as when they flipped the mighty 92.7 The Zoo to Fan ESPN radio. Well they laid off a lot of employees in 2009 and in 2010 they are making their talent work only 4 day work weeks, I have heard that 15% pay cuts in some of Rocking M Radio operations. The group is getting closer to putting the keys on the counter and walking away and with stupid lawsuits with Larry Steckline, and Eagle Communications, they continue to bleed cash. So by this time next year, hopefully the world has wrote itself of this embarrassing radio group.
Jiggy jaguar Radio and TV continue to grow, Radio is working with 50 + stations now and we are on a AM station out of Texas now as well. We are slowly getting the live studio guest thing down with recent guests from Poetic Pain records, etc. TV will be going to Midwest Rock fest and be doing the multi crew and multi camera set-up. Ninja Larry and myself are going to going on the road with A fresh TV an Afreshentertainmnentmagazine.com's Ann with an E. Plus we will be bringing along 2 more crews with people like Jared The Animal Steel and Action Cory and hell who knows maybe we will work in Top DOGG/Dirty Mann and Stunt boy into the mix as well. We will be doing some big things in 2010.
My view on 2010 is that this has got to be better than 2009. I have saw this year as a way for the universe to write itself. One of my favorite broadcasters in Wichita Radio, Don Hall “Dancing Don” was let go in 2009 by Clear Channel radio. Well days before New Years Eve, Dancing Don got hired on at KEYN radio in Wichita Kansas. He will make his grand return on January 4th and that is what I like to hear. See things are turning around for everyone, everywhere. Hell there might be something brewing for ol' Jiggy Jag to come back on the air in Salina Kansas. Just have to watch the skies..Hell knowing my luck, I will be back as Crash Davis...ha ha ha
