Weekly Rant: 5/25/2008- Mainstream media and me!

First off this past week I was "at" a local concert event held in Saline County and from sources that I observed and obtained. I made a conclusion and it bothered me till on Sunday night I went onto myspace.com and the website and posted a rant. Now this caused a ton of **** to go down at the "Dog and Pony show" I call my day job. Based upon this my friends and co-workers give me, this column and the website and our TV and radio ventures, way too much credit.

Let's look at the facts here; most people know the difference between Jiggy and The guy from the Kevin Costener movie. However a select few people get really annoyed by both personas. Let's jump into the point, I have a website for Jiggy Jag TV and Jiggy Jaguar Radio program to connect. We get anywhere from 230 to 300 people download our pod cast on a daily routine. {When we post 1 show per week} and we have a great deal of syndicated stations across the net. I have in my quest since 1993; I have talked to {just on the radio show}. Mary Higgins Clark {Famed author}, Ed Mcmahon{Carson's sidekick on the Tonight Show} and sports stars "Big" John McCarthy from the UFC and countless unsigned bands and newsmakers.

I have had a TV program that started in 2007 and has featured such stars Anthony Gomes {Blues Artist on Billboard}, Morgan Reigns {adult film star} and countless local and unsigned and regional bands. I have been able to drive the Internet traffic and the Cable Access traffic to the show and the brand. However with the program also comes controversy, I do not have to get into the issues I have had with Jane Gates from The Steifel and Sharon from the Salina River fest.

Let's break down the real facts here; I have an Internet radio program, which no one in Kansas listens to. I get most of my listeners from other parts of the USA and Europe. I have a TV program that is on at different times and is working on getting a regular timeslot on Wed at 12am. I also have a column that hardly anyone reads and comments on. However a lot of people give me a ton of credit that I do not deserve. Now this does not do anything but 2 things, 1 feed my already HUGE ego. Plus it brings up 1 thing to me, I have a lot of power I did not know I had?

My take on this issue is you guys in the mainstream media and other areas give Little Ol' Jiggy Jag a lot of credit I do not deserve. This reminds me the time I went on one evening back in 2000 on alternacast.com and attacked Joe Roach on T-95. Now Joe got wind of this from one of my listeners in Wichita or something and he went on a tirade about me on T-95's airwaves. Now keep in mind, some internet radio guy went and caused all this, What should have been, is he dumps out of it, I would have gotten board and moved on. However he gave me a lot power I did need and also a lot of new listeners because he mentioned the site on the air.

Finally let's look at this week as another odd chapter in my radio and now TV life. I was unaware I had this much power but damn it makes me feel pretty damn good. However keep in minds, which since our friends in the Mainstream world are monitoring us. I will have to talk in code and all now, so that should be fun it will be like the Grease man but hell it could be fun.
